darkslover: (night sky)

He found her outside, late at night and in the middle of the field the gave a speech in two days ago. The Blue Lion was sitting like an over-sized cat. It was a sight that would never fail to amuse him.

She was sitting right on her Lion's (her?) paw, looking up. He had asked for her an hour ago, but no one knew where she had gone. In the back of his mind, Shiro wondered how Lance wouldn't have known where Allura had been; they seemed to have grown closer during their time on Earth.

No. Wait. That didn't sound right.

Sure, Shiro had seen them sticking together, he had seen it through his clone's memories in the Castle of the Lions as well. Those memories weren't pleasant for him. He felt as if he was wearing a suit that controlled his movements, his decisions, his words... a magic spell he couldn't shake, mind control he couldn't break. He heard himself fighting with her, pulling rank on Lance, leaving everyone behind to aid Lotor (him aiding Lotor, of all people!) during the Kral Zera, he lived attacking and hurting Hunk, spitting hurtful words towards Keith and even attacking her. He had lived through them crumbling, being separated and the memories made his insides burn even now. His clone had pushed Allura away and he hated it.

So, when he saw her sitting on the giant claws of the Blue Lion, looking up in the night sky with what looked like a quilt around her shoulders, in the back of his mind, Shiro wondered where the boy who had replaced him in keeping her afloat was. Truthfully, he'd be lying if he told himself that he wasn't relieved to find her lone; he had wanted to speak with her privately for a long time now, but in the close quarters of the Lions where there was no privacy and an attack imminent on Eart by Sendak, there was no opportunity.

But tomorrow, things would become hectic again. Tomorrow... they'd travel to find the source of the machines that attacked them. Allura suspected Haggar was responsible and Shiro had no reason to doubt her. The girl they found was Altean, Romelle was freaking out and Shiro himself felt a cold chill down his spine and a whisper at the back of his mind. The witch was responsible for this.

So, when he found Allura alone, under the night sky, looking up at the stars they were supposed to travel tomorrow morning with the first light, Shiro felt a flutter and a relief through him.

This might be his only opportunity to talk to her before the fight started again. He wasn't going to waste it.
